People on social media can’t seem to get enough of the baseball playoffs, especially if the Cardinals, Phillies, Yankees or Tigers are involved.
Four baseball games were in the top six most-discussed programs among those using Facebook and Twitter, according to SocialGuide.com, while a fifth, the American League Championship Series’ Game 1 between the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers, finished in the 11th spot.
The top spot went to the National League Division Series Game 5 on TBS between the St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies, which beat out NBC’s NFL game between Green Bay and Atlanta. And for good reason — the game was a classic pitchers’ duel between the Cardinals’ Chris Carpenter and the Phillies’ Roy Halladay, which the Cards won 1-0.
In third place was E!’s special about Kim Kardashian’s wedding, while the next three spots went to the AL Division Series between the Tigers and New York Yankees.
Rounding out the top 10 were Fox’s Glee in seventh, followed by MTV’s Jersey Shore, the ESPN Monday night game between Indianapolis and Tampa Bay and ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.

As far as the Nielsen ratings were concerned, the Packers-Falcons game on NBC was the top broadcast event for the week, beating out NCIS and Two and a Half Men on CBS.
