From removing bandages to cover giant pimples to Jay-Z going nuts in the stands, last night’s Yankees game certainly had drama. But all that drama didn’t mean shit because in the end, the 97 win regular season, $40 million addition to the payroll Yanks couldn’t cut it.
And in all honesty I can’t even blame many of the players but I can blame Alexander Rodriguez. Based loaded 1 out. Come on dude. At least drive in a run. Something. You whiff? You friggin’ whiff against a dude who is battling acne and taking 6 years to throw a pitch because he’s just that scared?
Sure he’s a good pitcher but you’re supposed to be one of the best players in history. You can’t even get a sac fly? As I said in the title, I’d much rather have had Reggie Miller at the plate. He’s way more clutch and you know Spike Lee was thinking the same thing.
Oh by the way, 2 players that get paid the most by this team (except Jeter) are the ones that sucked the most. We all love CC but come on. He gave up a run that if he hadn’t the game would have been tied. Plus his first game wasn’t too pretty.
This high payroll shit is losing it’s luster. I guess we can look at 2009 but whatever. It’s not 2009 anymore.
