WESTERN KY (10/27/11) – Both St. Louis Cardinal and Texas Ranger Fans are sitting on the edge of their seats awaiting game 6 of the 2011 Major League Baseball World Series.
From the Rangers point of view, the upcoming game tonight could set a major sports moment in history if the team wins, as this would mark the first World Series title in the history of Major League Baseball for Texas. From the Cardinals aspect, losing to a team that has never won a World Series title would give them a negative blow with fans.
Tonight’s game was originally scheduled for yesterday, but due to potential harsh weather conditions it was postponed until this evening.
Via various social networks, local Western Kentucky MLB fans are sharing two main ideas on how the postponement of the games could affect the final games. One side is stating that this will give the Rangers an extra day to prepare for what could possibly be a major turning point in Texas Ranger sports history, while the Cardinal side states that the postponement will throw the Rangers off of their winning streak.
Overall, many fans are simply disturbed that it was postponed as the weather turned out to be perfectly normal at Busch Stadium. The majority is upset that what was to be a Texas based game will now take place in Missouri, giving the Cardinals a home-field advantage.
If the Cardinals can manage a win tonight, the World Series will continue into Friday. Regardless, the Cardinals will have to pull a two-game win to claim this year’s World Series title. If the Rangers take tonight’s game, Texas will go away with their first World Series title.
