Five greatest fan foul ball catches

Share/Bookmark By Rick Limpert
Every fan that goes to a professional baseball game at the major or minor league level dreams about catching a ball and bringing home the souvenir.
Along with the actual ball, there will be a story to tell, some of them surely exaggerated.
Here are some great catches made at professional baseball games, all by fans. Along with the ball and their story, these fans have videos on the Internet to prove to disbelievers how sure-handed they truly are.
Dr. Ian Driben
This Philadelphia Phillies fan and veterinarian made his catch on the move. Dr. Driben was returning to his seat carrying a Diet Coke and a double order of fries when a ball was fouled back by Jayson Werth(notes). The ball came down and was caught by Dr. Driben in stride. He didn't spill any of his drink or his food. A great catch.

Cubs fan with a baby
How about this guy making a catch in the upper deck at Wrigley Field with one hand while holding a baby with his other arm? This takes talent AND coordination.

Elderly lady redeems herself with two foul balls
You never know what you might see when you go to a baseball game. This lady had great seats at a Tampa Bay Rays game and was in prime position to get a foul ball. After being hit in the head by one, she stepped up her play and ended up getting two foul balls later in the game. To top it off, she started talking trash.
Catch while talking on cellphone
These days people do everything while talking on their mobile phone. This guy caught a batting practice homer while talking on his phone and then just went right back to chatting. I wonder if he mentioned to his buddy on the other end that he just snagged a ball?
The popcorn bucket
Give this glove-less fan credit. Here comes the foul ball and what do you do next? This guy made use of the popcorn bucket on his lap and ended up with a foul ball. Give him points for ingenuity.
